AUTUMN 2014

It seemed to be a long wait for Autumn this year, what with the unseasonable summer and it's 3 days over 40c in a row..but it's here now and both the "cold" and "warm" varieties of Brugmasia are full of buds and promise...

Right and Below. Now RUBY ROSE
This is Joli x Charleston #3..... a very waxy flower that starts off with all the old antique colours and changes to a rich pink, lovely perfume on this one..
I have to others of this cross, both white, one double and one single, both very beautiful.

Now 'SUNSET DREAMING'

This double pink on the left and below is a cross between.
(Angels Sunbeam x Bergfeuer)X SuperSpot
It's a pretty thing with lots of A.Sunbeam and Bergfeuer in it...sweetly scented..

Now 'DADDY LONG LEGS'
Below.........This beautiful flower is a cross between (Charleston x Bergfeuer) x SuperSpot...
I'm rather pleased that SuperSpot didn't get much of a look in, because it's a big, beautiful white.
Very strong, thick corolla walls, keeps it's dominating shape very well.

One of my favourites "GRASSHOPPER'S CHOICE" Named for a dear friend.
This one is one that just keeps getting better..a cross between Rosalla x American Pride..
It throws singles and doubles with each flush, and the effect is very pretty..
This month it also produced a 10 pt flower, a single flower with 10 petal points, not a very common thing....but very attractive...

The pic above was taken the first night that the 10 pt opened and the others are from the next day.

Left is what a normal flower from this cross looks like, they turn a deeper orange with age...
All flowers have an amazing marzipan perfume.......

'FIESTA'
As usual this cross of Ruffles and Flourishes x Bergkönigin is the star of the show so far.
It's colours and perfume are very hard to ignore..
It has a pod hanging on, so I'm looking forward to harvesting it and sowing those seeds...

Go to Autumn 2014 #2 for the others that have flowered.
