The Orange Program:
The first cross that I am trying is (Rosalla x American Pride) x (Langenbuscher Garten x Bergfeuer)
Rosalla is a pink double or more...American Pride is a yellow double or more..the flower below is the result of that cross......Grasshopper's Choice.
LBG is an orange double....Bergfeuer is a pink double..
Below is the result of that cross...as yet unnamed.
Here are the seeds beginning to sprout, I only planted a few, it's difficult getting them to thrive during winter....but at the moment they are fine on the kitchen window...

Of all the pods that were set chasing the orange there is only one surviving....they were all destroyed in the wind storms that we had June/July except for (Angels swingtime x Angels sunbeam) x Clementine..
this is just holding on....the twisting in the wind has damaged the peduncle and it is gradually get thinner and thinner
The same thing happened to all of the others...only one was ripe enough to at least try to save the seeds..
it was a huge pod with well over 150 seeds, about 4 months old...they were white but firm, so I sprinkled
them onto a mix of vermiculite and perlite in a plastic see thru tub...that was Aug 2nd and so far only one has grown, others have germinated but that's all...here is the little one on the 12th Sept...
I have just received some seeds from Edna Murphree, Angels Skyline x Orange Julius. They will be an interesting addition to the program if they produce a good one.
They are growing very well now.

aurea hybrid x *Sugartime.
*Sugartime x Vanilla Split.
*I use Sugartime because it's parents Angels Swingtime and New Orleans Lady are yellow and pale orange respectively...Vanilla Split is an Angels Swingtime x Angels Sunbeam cultivar.
